La nouvelle combinaison Carnobacterium maltaromaticum (Miller et al. 1974) Mora et al. 2003 regroupe les souches autrefois désignées sous les nomenclatures de Carnobacterium piscicola, de Lactobacillus carnis et de Lactobacillus maltaromaticus.
